Speaker Bio: William Huffman
Huffman is the Associate Director of Toronto Arts Council as well as the Grants Officer for both
the visual arts/media and the literary program. He has worked with a number of visual arts
organizations in Ontario such as Blackwood Gallery, Arts Toronto and Power Plant
Contemporary Art Gallery. He holds teaching positions with University of Toronto and Toronto
School of Art and is an active curator with past projects taking place in Canada, the US, Italy,
and France.
Speaker Bio: Carolyn Vesely
Carolyn Vesely is the Visual Arts Officer at the Ontario Arts Council. Her responsibilities include programs for public art galleries, artist-run centres, visual artists, craft artists and craft organizations, as well as other project programs.
Carolyn has an extensive history in arts administration and curating. Prior to joining the Ontario Arts Council in June of 2001, she was Director of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery for four years. Before returning to Ontario, Carolyn was the Director of the Kelowna Art Gallery in British Columbia. Before moving to B.C., Carolyn was the Director of the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant in Brantford, Ontario. Carolyn graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours BA in studio practice, theory and criticism.
