I'm interested in images of places at rest - for a season, or at the end of their useful lives. These places, once active, are now silent, often ignored, and isolated, even in busy surroundings. Their presence is often a surprise; something happened on rather than looked for. In capturing images of performing artists I'm interested in immersion - that point when performers are completely absorbed in their performance - when it just flows. Lately, I've been working mostly with burlesque performers, here and in Montréal, as well as a variety of performers at the Free Concert Series at the Canadian Opera Company's Four Seasons Centre. I use film and digital processes to capture these images and personally print them on archival quality fine art papers. My work is in private and commercial collections here and in the United States, and appears in promotional literature and the website for the Canadian Opera Company as well as related blogs and performer websites.
